Claudette

2024

Digital print on organza and steel

133 x 200 cm

In Claudette, an archival photograph of my

grandmother is printed on silk georgette.

The photograph is from my familial archive,

a source I constantly go back to,

My grandmother’s profile is tripled like an

image that refuses to be wholly captured. A

slice of her features revealed via a mirror

reflection is the only frontal view, evoking

a fragmented memory, always multiple and

ever-supple.
